LINDEN MUSIC SCENE HEATING UP
When you have the need to treat your loved ones and yourself to an evening out,
overnight or a weekend... no need to fight the traffic and gas prices, drive
a few miles down the road to Linden. The Commodore Hotel and Café,
a Linden landmark built in 1939, has been refurbished and restored to its former
glory, offering elegant atmosphere, with it's the grand fireplace, high ceilings
and beautiful crown moldings in the lobby and the tasteful décor of rooms
and main dining room.
The Commodore Hotel and Café is one that a person would expect to find
in a major city, not in a small country town in Tennessee. The uniqueness of
this vintage establishment, will take you back in time to a more relaxed and
quality era. Michael and Kathy Dumont, a couple of young dreamers have brought
the Commodore to life in the spirit of the classic ‘30s and ‘40s
supper clubs with the idea to produce a culturally harmonious place for all
types of folks to gather and enjoy wonderfully prepared food and live music.
The Café is a café in name only the offering here is a full service
restaurant. With a menu that will salivate the most discriminating palate or
feed a hungry country boy steak with potatoes and end it with home made desert
and fresh brewed coffee second to none. There aren’t enough words to describe
the ambiance of this wonderful new old venue it must be experienced.
The Commodore is quickly becoming the place of choice for live music for relaxing
while dining. The musical offering is a quality professional presentation of
country, classical, pop, jazz, or blues, smooth and easy mood music that will
move you in many directions. A number of nationally and internationally known
touring artist/musicians who have appeared recently are... Melody Guy who has
packed the house on three different dates... Melody is a touring Nashville singer/songwriter
who has played across the country from California to Maine she most recently
played the coveted Ryman in Nashville... it is said of Melody that “Her
musical soul is comparable to that of ... The legendary Hank Williams' writing
and delivery... Her vocal qualities that of Bonnie Raitt, Her musical drive
and real feel that of Lead Belly: But when all is played and sung no-one can
bring... A tear to the eye of the toughest... a smile to lips of the saddest
as delivered by the un-comparable Melody Guy”. You just missed Legendary
Guitarist John” Speedy Fingers” Richards... playing his Live Guitar
and singing great old classical tunes and a rollicking rendition of “Chattanooga
Shoeshine Boy”. The Commodore has also hosted among others, the hot new
sensational singer, guitar and fiddle playing 17-year-old Texan Danielle Reed
who has a current radio hit titled “Follow Me” Produced by John
Carter Cash. A great treat is Pianist Jennifer Harris who has played before
the President and over thirty-five thousand troops all at the same time.
Even greater is when Jennifer and Kathy, a big band style singer, team up as
a piano vocal duet...
Veteran entertainer artist manager / producer and co-owner of jenn-rod artist
directions Rod Harris is the producer of the Commodore’s music programs.
Harris is also the current President of the very prestigious Nashville Association
of Talent Directors in Nashville. On Friday, The Commodore has also hosted the
hot new sensational singer, guitar and fiddle playing 17-year-old Texan Danielle
Reed who has a current radio hit titled “Follow Me” Produced by

Hotel owner and developer Michael Dumont states, “I grew up in the Northeast
and Kathy grew up near Chicago where going out for dinner with live music was
a cultural experience... that's what we hope to create with the Commodore. Linden
is positioned halfway between Nashville and Memphis, and musical talent is abundant.
We're creating an experience one would find in world-class cities. Our niche
here is a place where people may enjoy the finer things in life, great food
and terrific entertainment.”
So if you’re looking for some great live music music to aid the digestion,
the Commodore Hotel and Café captures the style of a forgotten era, and
